How to read Microsoft designations
A Solutions Partner designation is awarded by Microsoft on a partner capability score that combines performance (customer adds and revenue growth), skilling (certified staff), and customer success (deployments and usage). Partners re-qualify every year, so a designation is a current signal, not a historic one.
Since 2026 Microsoft presents the six designation pathways as three badges: AI Business Solutions (Business Applications and Modern Work), Cloud & AI Platforms (the three Azure pathways), and Security. A partner that qualifies for any pathway automatically carries its badge, which is why a Business Applications partner here also appears under AI Business Solutions.
Specializations sit on top of a designation and validate depth in one workload. For Business Central buyers the relevant one is Small and Midsize Business Management, which is scoped to Business Central deployments.
